About Us
The West Rowan High School Choral Program averages 100-150 students a year through 3 classes a semester. Courses offered to students are: Beginners Chorus, Intermediate Chorus, and Proficient (Honors) Chorus and Advanced Placement Music Theory. Each semester the students present the information that they have learned throughout the semester at chorus concerts.
Fall semester concerts include a mid-term concert, winter/prism concert with West Rowan Middle and Elementary, and Exam concert. During this time, students at the Proficient level also audition for outside ensembles including Mars Hill's Choral Festival. Proficient students also participate in collaborative community concerts in both Concord and Salisbury. In addition, students at the Proficient level will also audition for All-County Chorus and participate in state Music Performance Adjudications.
Our Broadway Revue program which is open to all students. Featuring dancing, drama, and singing, this program serves as a means of artistic collaboration with the Visual Art and English department.
Another event open to all students (by audition) is the West Rowan Talent Show. This annual event is judged by talented community partners including members of local colleges and professional groups.
